Carbon Steel Boiler Tubes

Carbon steel boiler tubes are used in boiler systems to transfer water, steam, and heat. They are supplied in seamless form and selected according to the applicable standard, grade, dimensions, operating conditions, and project requirements.

Standards

Carbon steel boiler tubes can be supplied to applicable GB, ASME, DIN, and EN standards. Other standards, including JIS, can be reviewed upon request.

Standard Representative grades listed in the supplied reference
GB (China) 10, 20, 20G, 20MnG, 25MnG
ASME (U.S.A.) SA-106B, SA-192, SA-209 T1a, SA-210 A1, SA-106C, SA-210C
DIN (Germany) St35.8, St45.8
EN (Europe) P195GH, P235GH, P265GH

Grade availability and classification should be confirmed against the required standard and project specification.

Uses

Carbon steel boiler tubes are used in different sections of boiler systems, depending on the design and operating conditions.

  • Water Wall Tubes are used in furnace wall assemblies to absorb heat from the combustion chamber.
  • Economizer Tubes transfer heat from flue gas to boiler feedwater before it enters the boiler.
  • Superheater Tubes heat saturated steam to the required temperature. The suitable material depends on the design temperature and pressure.
  • Reheater Tubes reheat steam in the boiler cycle. Material selection depends on the specified service conditions.
  • Steam Line Pipes carry steam between boiler system components and downstream equipment.

Not every boiler section uses the same grade. The selected tube should meet the project’s design conditions and applicable specification.

Product Characteristics

Carbon steel boiler tubes offer a range of grades and dimensions for boiler manufacturing and maintenance. Product selection can be based on the required standard, outer diameter, wall thickness, length, and delivery condition.

Available inspection and testing can include chemical composition analysis, mechanical testing, flattening, flaring, hydrostatic testing, and non-destructive testing, as required by the order specification.

Available Range of Specifications

Finish Outer Diameter (OD) Wall Thickness (WT)
Hot finished 33–508 mm 4–55 mm
Cold finished 16–89 mm 2–16 mm

Other sizes and standards may be reviewed upon request. Please provide the required grade, dimensions, quantity, and applicable standard when making an inquiry.
